At the University of Guam by definition one credit hour equals 15 hours of student-teacher contact in a face-to-face or on-line course with the following noted exceptions for studio, lab, internships, and other similar courses. Faculty members are contractually expected to meet with the students registered in the courses for the full contact hours and to assign readings, homework, and other learning activities that require at least two hours of preparation and study time for every contact hour each week, or each day for Finakpo' (June - Aug.), Tinalo' (Dec.- Jan.)and other accelerated semesters.
